I know what to expect this time, so I have stacked up a lot of things I can do while sitting/lying down. Here they are, in no particular order:
1. I moved my computer downstairs onto a card table so that when I am ready to sit up a bit (NOT in the first 2 weeks!!) I can sit with my leg extended on a stool, so it stays hip height when I sit there. I tested the sitting arrangement before surgery, and the stool with a pad on it is in place.
2. Quilts! I am a "Sidetracked Home Executive"-- that means I have many unfinished projects. Too many years ago to think about, I started a memory quilt for my daughter. It is made of pieces of fabric that cover her entire lifetime. I had it pieced, except for the final trim edge. So after I finished up the quilt last time around, I decided to keep at it and finish hers too. As the months moved along, and the troubles with knee number two developed, I got her quilt done except for the final stitching which I can do on my lap. This is Project Number One in priority!
3. Old VCR tapes. I gathered all of them up, and hope to review, copy to DVD or trash them all.
4. Jewelry. I have beads to repair 2-3 necklaces, and now the time to sit and work on them. And maybe make some new ones.
5. Paperwork: a file box of miscellany to process.
6. Mending...crocheted doilies my Granny made which need a bit of TLC where the knots have come untied.
7. Finish the tatted doily I started last time.
8. Finish painting the tabletop from last time (there will be a photo to explain this one).
9. Make a nice case for my new iPod Touch so it doesn't get all scratched in my purse. (Another photo with details later for this one, too.)
